Minute Steak and its variations – quick and easy recipes
This selection of recipes showcases the use of minute steak, a delicious cut of beef that is quick to prepare and offers a wide range of serving options.
Minute Steak
Procedure:
The meat is lightly salted, ideally with good quality sea salt (such as Maldon salt), and placed in a hot pan to which a teaspoon of oil has been added. The steak is briefly seared on both sides, then transferred to a plate or cutting board and left to rest for about 2 minutes. Finally, season with a pinch of freshly ground black pepper.
Minute Steak Sandwich
Procedure:
The onion rings are first fried in oil in a pan until golden brown. Then the prepared minute steak, as described above, is combined with the fried onion and placed in a halved bun. Then a slice of quality cheese is added - the ideal choice is cheddar or Emmental. The sandwich is briefly placed under a hot grill or in a preheated oven until the cheese melts slightly, and finally seasoned with freshly ground pepper.
Double Use Rolled Slices (Bracciole)
Procedure:
Minute steak can also be used in another way – rolled and filled with your favorite filling. The rolled slices are then slowly stewed in tomato sauce (passata), which makes not only a delicious meat for lunch or dinner, but also an excellent pasta sauce.
To make the sauce, sauté the onions, carrots, and celery stalks in a pan with salt and pepper, then add the canned tomatoes or use chopped fresh tomatoes. Simmer the sauce for about 20 minutes, and ideally blend with a hand blender until smooth before adding the meat.
Bon appetite!
