Baked turkey bones with herbs - a simple recipe

This recipe is a healthy and delicious treat, where marrow bones are cooked in the oven with fresh herbs. The result is an aromatic appetizer that goes great with a fresh baguette or toast.

Raw materials:

  • 4–6 marrow bones
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (such as rosemary or thyme)
  • Baguette or toast

Procedure:

  1. Preheat the oven to 218°C (425°F).
  2. The marrow bones are placed in a baking dish or cast iron skillet. The bones are then seasoned with salt and black pepper and sprinkled with selected fresh herbs.
  3. The bones are baked for 15–20 minutes until the marrow is soft and golden brown.
  4. After removing from the oven, the bones are allowed to cool slightly for a few minutes.
  5. The finished dish is served hot, preferably with fresh slices of baguette or toast, on which the pulp is spread evenly. For a more pronounced flavor, garlic or shallots can also be added to the baking dish.
  6. For a more intense flavor, the bones can be soaked in cold water for several hours before roasting, which will remove excess blood and dirt.

Be careful when removing the bones from the oven as they will be very hot.
